Tie Guys

Papa and Nana got the boys dress shirts and ties for Christmas. They couldn't wait to wear them to church and they got their wish today. If you've read my previous post, you'll notice that they are again wearing white shirts (which I don't recommend) but it's precious nonetheless!!! They are growing SO fast and clothes like these only make them look more like little men and not little boys - sniff, sniff.

Penguin Day

So, yesterday was "Penguin Day" at the boys school. They asked that we dress our kids in white shirts and black pants so I obliged. I waited until we were about to walk out the door to put their white shirts on (if you are a parent reading this, you know exactly why)!!! If you happen not to be a parent yet here's a few words of wisdom for you: If you put a white shirt on a child before THE MOMENT YOU'RE READY TO LEAVE you'll be changing the shirt or trying desperately to remove a stain and then be late to wherever you are going!!! Anyway, we made it to school with clean, white shirts but they were far from clean when I picked them up later that day!!! I have always thought whoever makes a kids shirt white probably doesn't have kids or has a lifetime supply of Shout (which doesn't always work)!

Isaiah's class had an igloo in it that they got to play in, made a paper plate penguins, and had hot chocolate with marshmallows. Samuel's class made penguin feet (I've attached a photo below of BOTH boys in these penguin feet), made construction paper penguins and waddled to chapel like penguins! I bet that was cute! I REALLY love the boys school and they like it a lot too. Next week Isaiah's class gets to tour a pizza parlor and learn to make pizza - maybe I'll let HIM cook dinner that night and put his skills to the test?!! Later this month they have pj and teddy bear day. All the kids get to wear their pj's and bring their favorite teddy or stuffed animal. LOTS of neat stuff going on!!!

Here are my little penguins

I HAVE to attach this next pic too...
Samuel did not like what we were watching on TV so he went and got the little DVD player and watch "Danger Mouse," one of his favorite cartoons! Nice little set up, Sam!

Sunglass Kids

For Chirstmas, Isaiah and Samuel both got some money from Bryan's Grandparents - Grandpa Herman and Grandma Margie. So, they wanted to go to their favorite store in the World - WAL*MART. Off we went. I took Samuel alone and he kept telling me he wanted a big race car. Thinking he wanted a race car to race with on the floor, I kept trying to show him the biggest ones I could find. None of these were what he wanted and I was beginning to think this "big race car" didn't exist. So, looking for something else for him we turned down one of the last toy isles and across the isle from the toys were the bicycles and such. He immediately said, "There it is Mommy; I want that one!" I looked up to see a red corvette sports car that HE could ride in and drive. So THIS was the big race car he was referring to all this time. I explained that he didn't have enough money for this (he was given $25.00). It's VERY hard to explain to an almost 3 year old that they don't have enough money for something they REALLY want. I told him maybe he could ask for that for his b-day (not that Mommy and Daddy will have enough money for it either). He seemed okay with this and we found a race car that he can play with INSIDE. He still had money left over so he picked out some sunglasses (Spiderman). He said, "I need some sunglasses so the sun won't get in my eyes!" He HATES the sun in his eyes!

Next, Isaiah's turn. He decided he wanted a Power Ranger toy (SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE). He picked out one that he didn't have (can there be one that he DOESN'T have says Daddy) and then we were off to the sunglasses for him. Sam can't be the only one with sunglasses!!! Isaiah picked out a pair of "Cars" sunglasses and looks really cool in them.

Thank you Grandpa Herman and Grandma Margie for the toys and sunglasses - WE LOVE YOU!

Here's a pic of Sam in his sunglasses. We are on our way out the door for school.

No More Pepper...

For those of you who came to the blog and read the last post about Pepper (the newest addition to the Beaver family) well, you're now wondering what happened to that post? I deleted it!

Things just didn't work out with Pepper. I feel that I need to tell you that this was BRYAN'S decision. While I am not a dog person, I had nothing to do with our giving Pepper away. Bryan was going crazy with Pepper's whining, crying and barking. Since I'm not a "dog person" you should know that even Bryan said her whining, crying and barking were out of the ordinary for most puppies. Anyway, spending all this time and energy on Pepper was making it impossible to spend any time with Daisy (our chocolate lab). So, in trying to get a "friend" for Daisy so she wouldn't be alone most of the day, we ended up leaving her alone even more because of the demands of the puppy. The boys are okay with Pepper's departure. They know she will be in good hands with another family.

So, Pepper is gone and now Bryan is determined to spend more time with Daisy. Daisy is the BEST dog and we are all (yes, even me) thankful that she is a part of our family.
