Priceless Moments...

I'll start with a little background info. For the past several mornings (EARLY mornings) Samuel has been getting up before everyone else. He gets up, gets his pillow, monkey and puppies (he sleeps with these) and opens his door. He then shuts his door very loudly. He ALWAYS shuts his door when he comes out of his room (funny thing). Then, he comes into our bedroom, throws Bryan's pillow from the bed to the floor, puts his own pillow on the bed, and climbs up to lay next to me. I guess I should also say, Bryan is always gone early to train at the gym thus Sam being able to throw his pillow on the floor! Anyway, THIS morning was a little different and went as follows:

I hear Sam open then close his door. I am expecting him to come in any minute. I wait, and wait, and wait but my door never opens. I lay there for a few more minutes, curious as to WHERE he has gone but not really wanting to get out of bed to check! My mind then starts to imagine him downstairs, tearing into all the presents under the tree and I decide to GET UP! I open my door, walk a few steps to Isaiah's room where I hear movement. I peek in to see Samuel "setting up" his spot. He has his pillow on the floor, next to Isaiah's bed and is trying to position his stuffed animals. He then decides to try to get up on the bed, waking Isaiah. Isaiah says (in a sleepy voice),"Hey, Sam." Sam responds in his sleepy voice even though he's been awake for a good 20 minutes,"Hey, Isaiah." Sam climbs up on the bed and Isaiah says, "You want to lay here beside bubba?" Sam agrees but they have to lay on Sam's pillow. Isaiah covers them up and then wraps his arm around Sam and says, "I love you more than anything in the world, Sam!" Sam responds, "I love you too, Isaiah!"

My heart melted.

I let them go on a few more seconds before I sneaked in and scared the living daylights out of them. Sam had just told Isaiah that I was still asleep so they weren't expecting me at all.

This "brotherly love" must be something they can only express when they are just awaking from a sound sleep because it is not present during the day!!!
