4 Months

Ok, so 4 and a half months really!

Here's what you're up to Lexi Lee...

Weight: 14lbs. 8oz.

Length: 27in.

Diaper Size: 2

Clothes Size: 3-6 month

You are drinking 5oz. of formula every 3-4 hours AND you've started eating rice cereal. You started with one feeding at bedtime and now are having another serving of cereal with your second feeding of the morning. You really like the cereal. Soon we'll try oatmeal (which was and still is a favorite of your brothers).

You went through a rough spell with your sleeping right when you turned 4 months old, waking up once (sometimes twice) during the night. But, I'm happy to report that you are back to your old ways and are sleeping soundly throughout the night!

One thing we realized about your sleeping is that you are a back sleeper. When you started breaking out of your swaddle, we began putting you down on your tummy to sleep. This also was the position your brothers liked best. You did good for a short time but then you began waking during the night. One night I put you down on your tummy and you weren't having it. I was going to get you up, so I rolled you over and when I did, you immediately fell asleep (on your back) and slept the entire night. So, I guess you were trying to tell me something and I finally caught on!

Your napping is a different story! You are not a daytime sleeper (neither is Mommy)! You take little catnaps of 30-45 minutes mostly. Occasionally, you will take an awesome nap (2+ hours) but these are not regular. I think you are beginning to nap a little better now that you are having cereal in the morning. We'll see!

You actually like being on your tummy for longer than a minute now. You'll now play on your tummy for about 5 minutes without getting upset! You've rolled from your tummy to your back a couple of times on accident. You are almost rolling from your back to your tummy too.

You've found your feet and LOVE to put them in your mouth! It is so cute!

You had your first road trip earlier this month. Daddy had to go out of town for a church meeting and Nana flew down to H-town to help Mommy with you and your brothers. Then, you, Mommy, Nana, Isaiah and Sam all drove to Lubbock. You did AMAZING on the 9 hour car trip. You slept, woke to eat, played a little and then went back to sleep. After arriving in Lubbock, you had a rough couple of days. You were in a new place, seeing new faces and sleeping in a different room. After a lot of "trial and error" we finally got you happy and the rest of the trip was a huge success. Your Great-Grandparents (a.k.a. Pops and Mems), your Aunt Susan and Uncle David, and your Aunt Pat all drove to Lubbock from Oklahoma to meet you (and see the rest of us too). You loved all the attention and gave out A LOT of smiles. They were all smitten with you. After 9 days in Lubbock, we headed back home. Daddy had flown to Lubbock to spend the week there after his meeting, so he was with us on the ride home. You were just as good on the ride home, as the ride up to Lubbock. We were SO proud of you!

So, we're back home and you are on your way to being 5 months old! Time is just starting to fly by and we are enjoying every moment of it! We love you precious little angel girl!!!
