Our Graduate

Isaiah graduated from Pre-K last night at Bear Creek Baptist Church.  It was a wonderful ceremony.  I still cannot believe he will be in "real" school next year.  He is very excited about "real" school.  He asked me last night when I put him to bed, "How many hours will I be at school next year?"  I told him 7 hours or so.  He said, "Whoa!  EVERYDAY?"  I said yes.  He rolled his eyes and smiled.  He is excited with everything to do about school.  He is in hopes that one day he can ride the bus to school.  Isaiah's Papa (aka my dad) works for Blue Star Bus Sales and Isaiah thinks the school bus is the coolest thing ever!  However, my response to this was, "Isaiah, hopefully you will never have to ride the bus to school and mommy or daddy can take you until you can drive!"  The thought of him being on a public school bus in Houston is TERRIFYING!!!  Actually, the thought of him in the Houston public school SYSTEM is equally as terrifying!  Luckily, we are 95% sure he will attend a charter school in Katy.  I say, "95% sure," because as of last month he was on a waiting list for this school's kindergarten classes.  He is number 5 on the list.  I spoke with another mom from Isaiah's Pre-K class this year (who's daughter is also on the waiting list for this school) who told me that both Isaiah and her daughter are in.  She said she was told that every child was put on a waiting list while the school waited to hear about a possible expansion of the school and that kids on the waiting list who were numbers 1-25 were guaranteed a spot!  We really hope this is true.  We should hear by way of letter sometime in the next couple of months.  If he does not get in we will be forced to send him to a school around our neighborhood which we DO NOT want to do!  Man, this is hard!  I had a great public school experience but school is not what it was WAY BACK THEN!  I am praying very hard that God allows him to get into the charter school but if God needs Isaiah elsewhere then so be it!  Time will tell!

Anyway, we are SO very proud of our little graduate and so excited to see what the future holds for him.  He is such a smart little guy and is truly a joy as a child.  I'm sure God is going to do great and mighty things through my Isaiah!

Here are some pics of this special event!

Outdoor Fun

We have had a couple of beautiful days recently - YEA, NO RAIN!!!

Yesterday evening Bryan decided to take the boys outside while I finished cleaning up after dinner. A few moments later I looked out our side window to see just about ALL the neighborhood kids in our yard wrestling with Bryan!  So, I got the camera!  A few minutes later, Bryan came in asking where his big (and by big I mean HUGE) fighting gloves were?  He realized he needed these to help him against all these kids!!!  Here' a few pics of this obviously MALE fun-fest!

Bryan IS in there!  (No, Sam did not hit Daddy with the bat!)

Whew, he escaped!

And, he's back down (however, it looks like HE's winning this one)!

I knew it was bound to happen - a jiu-jitsu lesson!!!

Don't worry, he didn't hurt Chase!

After the above two pics were taken an argument broke out.  You see, Bryan had taught the boys how to score and keep points in jiu-jitsu.  Well, one of the boys keeping score was a brother to one of the boys "rolling" (as they call it in jiu-jitsu) and the "roller" was not happy with the brother's score keeping!!!  Bryan and my boys had come in at this point but they boys were still on our front porch yelling at each other!  Isaiah then took it upon himself to stop this.  He opened the front door and said, "If y'all would stop arguing with each other this would all stop!"  He then shut the door and the yelling stopped!  Good job Isaiah!  I'm sure the arguing wasn't completely over but at least we didn't hear it anymore!!!

If these pics look a little "foggy" you should know that I took them through our window!  Heck no I wasn't going out there!!!  Just think, ALL these boys were inside my house one day not too long ago!  It was a stinky, rowdy, messy group but I survived!!!  So, this was Bryan's turn and I was TOTALLY fine with that!!!

BOYS, BOYS, BOYS everywhere I turn!!!

Mother's Day

What an awesome privilege it is to be a Mother.  I thank God for my two beautiful, happy, healthy, rambunctious boys!  I love them more and more with each passing day.  God has truly blessed my life with these two little guys and for that I am FOREVER grateful!

This last Thursday I was able to go to Isaiah's school to attend a "Mother's Tea" with Isaiah.  We had a wonderful time of snacking, drinking tea, taking pictures of friends and even a song from the kids to us Moms.  On the tables there were cards that the kids had made along with a page entitled, "My Mother Is Special."  This was a paper the teacher's had filled in with answers from the kids to questions about their Mom.  Here is what Isaiah said:

My mom is special because:  she plays games with me.
I like it when my mom:  reads me books.
My mom has a pretty smile!  I like to maker her smile by:  my hugs!
My mom is pretty as a:  flower.
My mom is smart!  She even knows:  EVERYTHING!!! (we'll see if he still thinks this in a few more years!)

These are the things I treasure!!!

On another note, I am so grateful for the Mother that God has blessed me with!  I recently completed one of those quizzes on facebook that asked questions about being a mom.  One of the questions was, "Who's the mom you admire most?"  My answer was, "There is no greater mom than my very own - NO GREATER!"  This is SO true.  My mom is not only that, but she is my very best friend with whom I share just about everything!  I only wish I could be more like her.  I hope and pray that one day my son's will feel about me the way that I feel about my mother.  She is truly amazing and I am the luckiest daughter in the world because she is MY mother!  I love you, Mom!

I am also privileged to know some other WONDERFUL mother's that I call my friends!  You are all SO VERY precious to me and I love each of you dearly!  I wish you all a very Happy Mother's Day!

The Joys of Being Unsupervised!

If you're my friend on facebook then you know that I've had a rough last couple of days.  I went to bed Wednesday night with a sore throat and woke up Thursday morning much worse.  I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with strep throat!  I had this ALL the time as a kid so I figured that's what it was even before going to the doctor.  So, I called Bryan and told him the diagnosis. He said, "Okay, you need to go home, go up to our room and rest.  I will take care of the boys because we don't need you getting us all sick!  I will take care of you too!"  I have the greatest husband in the world!!!  So, that's what I did.

That was a little background info.  Here's the part that explains my title:

This morning I had to drive up to The Woodlands for my back treatment.  Bryan was still pretty much caring for the boys and decided to take them up to our church with him because he needed to do a few things.  This is what I was told when we all returned home.  Bryan, Isaiah and Samuel were in the worship center when Isaiah told Bryan he had to go to the potty.  Bryan told him to go and then come right back.  A few minutes later Bryan realized that Sam was missing and he hadn't heard him in a while.  He rushes to the bathroom to find Sam stark naked and splashing around in the urinal!!!  I started cracking up!  Bryan said he was glad I thought it was funny because he pulled a Bobby Knight and yanked him up and spanked him as fast as he could!!!  I then asked where Isaiah was and what he was doing?  Bryan said he was standing there watching and laughing the whole time.  So then, Isaiah got in trouble for not immediately coming to get Bryan instead of fueling the fire!!!

Daddy and Mommy are going on a date tonight because Daddy (after 1 1/2 days of "Mommy" duty) has decided he needs to get away from our little guys for a while!  How sweet of him to invite me along!!!
